Dear Reader,
Another month draws to a close and another issue of Spineless falls, ever so gracefully into your hands. Once again, I’m incredibly proud of the work our team has done. We continue to grow and expand, more people eager to both contribute and read our zine, which is incredibly rewarding. This month though, feels different than last issue. Less chaotic, less unorganised, more complete. That comes with time and experience, as everyone tells me, with each new issue comes familiarity and cohesion, that makes each little booklet feel more lived in than the last.
Even before I came up with last months theme, I knew what this one would be. Nostalgia. I love it. I’m nostalgic for just about everything. For times and places I never knew and people and moments I haven’t met. It’s a complicated, kind of undefinable emotion, which I knew we had to capture in our own special way.
From writing and collating the articles, to gathering everyone’s photos and hearing the stories that went along with them, this issue feels very personal. Not just from me, but from everyone. It’s a little bit of our past, from the journey’s we took to get where we are now, that now lay open for you to enjoy. I know you’ll love it just as much as I do.
From more contributors, to more eyes watching (and an extra page to go along with that), Spineless continues to grow more and more ambitious. Thank you to everyone who contributed, in whatever way you did. We truly can’t do it without you.
So enjoy Spineless’s second issue “I’ve heard this one before,” and wait for the day you’re nostalgic for it yourself.
